2.1 TPCU Operation Interface
Following is main control unit TPCU:
10.4" Touch TFT color LCD
The LCD shows all the HMI information. Icons on the screen could be manipulated by touching.
Emergency stop switch
When the switch is pressed, all actions of the controller (motion, current command and manual operation) will be aborted. The switch can be relieved by turning it clockwise.
Knob / Key
The knob can be rotated in both directions:
- While in manual page, it can apply to move the axis step by step. Clockwise is for positive direction, conversely counterclockwise is for negative direction.
- It can apply to choosing previous/next item in a list.
- When executing an INSMILL object or a program, the percentage of speed override is adjusted by it.
This knob also has a push button function:
- Switch items or modes.
- Change jog speed override or hand wheel step in manual page.
Key 1
The functions of key 1 in different occasions are as follows:
- Confirm or Yes in the process of dialog operation.
- Enter current item while something in a list is selected.
- While executing an INSMILL object or a program, start or continue execution.
- While in manual page, press it to move the axis in positive direction.
Key 2
The functions of key 2 in different occasions are as follows:
- Cancel or leave in the process of dialog operation.
- When the INSMILL object or program is in run state, press it to pause (FeedHold).
- While in manual page, press it to move the axis in negative direction.
Hint icon
There is a hint button at the bottom right in every page. Touch the button, it will pop up a window with brief using context and usage of UI object in current page.
Position display
There are three axes position info above the auxiliary key row. It contains P, M, D and R position.

Program position. The position which is controlled by the command of program. |

Machine position. The offset between current position and the mechanical origin defined by the machine manufacturer. The coordinate offset is the relation between program position and machine position. |

Distance to go. The remaining distance to finish current executing command. |

Relative position. Total moving distance after previous "relative position reset". It is usually used for measurement. |
When there is tool length compensation affect on the program position of Z, the PZ display will turn red and the symbol will change from PZ to TxZ. The x means current compensation number.
Unit of above positions is the same as feed unit (mm or inch).
